Northwest Symphony's Valentine's Concert is this Friday

Northwest Symphony Orchestra announces the second concert of its 2012– 2013 season.  The Valentine’s concert includes the popular “Marriage of Figaro Overture” by Mozart, as well as Aaron Copland’s “Appalachian Spring Suite,” Samuel Barber’s “Concerto for Violin,” and rounds out the program with “BoundlessHorizons” by contemporary composer Chris Thomas. Thomas is well known for his work scoring for film and television, and he has also worked with the Los Angeles Philharmonic and other fine ensembles in the Los Angeles area where he lives. Violinist Eric Rynes, who will be performing the Barber concerto, has been hailed by the press for his “committed,” “intrepid,” and “achingly beautiful” performances in diverse styles and genres, from recitals of the “thorniest” new music (Seattle Weekly), to his work as concertmaster and concerto soloist with the NWSO and chamber musician with the Seattle Modern Orchestra, to evenings of authentic Argentine tango with the quartet Tangabrazo, to guest appearances with jazz and rock groups.
